Age 84, passed away peacefully Friday, May 28, 2021 at her residence.

Survived by one son Maurice (Karen Jensen) Smeets Jr., daughters Bonnie (Dave) Webster and Sarah (Billy) Smith; grandchildren Joseph (Kaylen) Smeets, Leslie (Mike) Meloun, Harold (Kristen) Webster, Brian (Katie) Webster, Mitchell (Tess Ramsay) Botz, Nicholas (Cecelia Orozco) Botz,  Liam Smith, Roman, Jackson and Will; great grandchildren Andrew, Jacob, Cole, Hannah, Vincent, Graham, Emerson, Rowan and Bennett; two step grandsons and two great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Maurice Smeets Sr.; parents Leslie and Mary (Webler) Anthony and one brother Wayne L. Anthony.

Born in Joliet, living in Channahon since 1976.  Member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and formerly a member of Christ Episcopal Church.   Mary was a special education teacher’s assistant, Girl Scout Leader, Foster parent and in the Sweet Adeline’s.

Funeral Services will be held, Monday June 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.  Interment Elmhurst Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday 2-4 p.m.   In lieu of flowers memorials to Resurrection Lutheran Church or Lightways Hospice.
