Joaquin Diaz

August 16, 1963 — February 25, 2021

Joaquin M. Diaz

Joaquin M. Diaz, 57 years of age, passed away peacefully Thursday February 25, 2021 at Morris Hospital.

He was born August 16, 1963 in Juatis, Mexico, however, Joaquin spent the majority of his life living in Joliet, Illinois. Joaquin was a sympathetic, selfless, and compassionate man, with a sprinkle of sarcasm. He was a lifelong faithful member of the Apostolic Assembly Church and graduated from Joliet Central High School. He took big challenges head on, worked hard to provide for his children, and adored both his family and Joliet. Joaquin was creative and constantly kept himself busy; he enjoyed baking beautiful cakes for his children and would build things out of wood for his grandchildren. He drank coca cola often, enjoyed watching cowboy movies, and was Prince's biggest supporter. He was a blessing to all, a prankster, and had the most heartwarming smile. Joaquin adored his loving wife Maria, whom he will finally reunite with. This couple left a huge mark on the world and in our hearts. He will be missed by many, but his memory will always be remembered.

Survived by his; devoted 5 sons, Teodoro (Rosie) Garcia - children Alma and Stephanie Garcia; Carlos (Rosa Hernandez) Garcia - children Carlos Jr Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Juan Cordova, and Jose Cordova; Vicente Garcia; Javier (MaryLou) Garcia - children Mercedez (Omar) Nava Aubrey Nava, Javier Jr, Angel Garcia, and Florencio Garcia; Jose Garcia - Jaden Garcia; two daughters, Elvia (Dayton Sr. Dawson) Garcia children Alice Dawson, Dayton Dawson Jr, De'ja Dawson, Devennaire Campbell Jr, and Zion Campbell; Marina Diaz, and siblings; Maria McDonald, Vernice McDonald,  Carlos McDonald and Georgina McDonald.

Preceded in death by his wife, Maria E. Garcia; daughter, Alma Garcia; parents, Carl and Enriqueta McDonald and one sister, Josepha McDonald.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to all the staff at Morris hospital, especially nurses, Dianna and Lynn.
