Sharon Ann Mead Born: November 19, 1942 Died: October 20, 2024 Sharon Ann Mead, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 with her family by her side at Provence St Joseph Hospital.

Sharon is survived by her niece and caretaker Dianna (Mead) Anderson (Charles) of Rockford, IL, niece Dannette (Mead) Young(James) of Bolivar, MO., nephew Howard Mead (May) of Madison, WI, cousin Leo Holmes of Joliet, special cousin Sue Morgan of Shorewood, numerous Mead family grandnieces and grandnephews and numerous Holmes family cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Mary E.(Holmes) Mead; Brother Howard A. (Joule Heck )Mead, Sr, 3 infant sisters and 2 infant brothers; Nieces Donna (Mead)McCullough, Deborah (Mead) Piazza, Nephews Barry and James Mead.

Sharon was born on November 19, 1942 in Chicago, IL. She attended Saint John Grade School, graduated from Mary Magdalene Grade School and St. Francis Academy class of 1960. Sharon was born challenged with Cerebral Palsy enduring surgery as a child at Shriners Chicago Hospital to aid her afflicted right side. She lived as normal a life as possible in her own apartment after the death of her mother in 1986 until effects of CP made it impossible in 2015. Sharon worked at March of Dimes Joliet out of High School and later at United Cerebral Palsy Center in Joliet business office 40 years, retiring at the age of 70. She resided at Renwick Nursing and Rehab (formerly Rosewood).

Sharon will be remembered as a very devout catholic and strong in her faith watching mass on tv when not able to attend in person. She had special prayers she said every day along with the rosary.

Per Sharon's wishes no service was held. She had a private burial including her favorite daily prayers with family at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Joliet on October 23, 2024.
