Santos Chavez

Santos Chávez, age 97, of Grant Park, IL passed peacefully on February 1, 2023 in Joliet, IL.

He was born on June 9, 1925 in Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of the late Bibiano Chávez and Maclovia Viramontes.  He lived most of his life in La Macauta and Corral de Piedra near Jalpa, Zacatecas.  There, he met his wife, the late Consuelo Valenzuela, and they were married on May 19, 1945.  He and Consuelo were blessed with 11 children.

He is survived by his children, Guadalupe (Sotero), Petra (Chema), Enrique (Maria), Francisco (Martha), Guillermo (Linda), Efren (Chary), Delia (Eliseo), Dagoberto (Lola), 31 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, and three sons, Rodrigo, Ignacio and Arturo.

He loved and was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all.

Nació el 9 de Junio de 1925 en Zacatecas, México, hijo de padres ya fallecidos Bibiano Chávez y Maclovia Viramontes.  Vivió la mayoría de su vida en La Macauta y Corral de Piedra, Municipios de Jalpa, Zacatecas.  Ahí, conoció a su esposa, Consuelo Valenzuela ya fallecida, se casaron el 19 de Mayo de 1945.  Él y Consuelo fueron bendecidos con 11 hijos de los cuales les sobreviven: Guadalupe (Sotero), Petra (Chema), Enrique (Maria), Francisco (Martha), Guillermo (Linda), Efren (Chary), Delia (Eliseo), Dagoberto (Lola), 31 nietos, 42 bisnietos y 4 tataranietos.

Falleció despues de sus padres, su esposa, y tres hijos, Rodrigo, Ignacio y Arturo.

Amó y fue amado por muchos y será extrañado por todos.
