Raymond F. Crampton
Passed away Wednesday April 1, 2026 at his home with family by his side.
Survived by his loving wife Carol (Churulo) Crampton; son Jeffrey (Nancy) Crampton; daughter Kathryn (Michael) Mayotte; grandchildren Joshua (April) Crampton, Grace and Elyssa Mayotte; sisters-in-law Carol J. Crampton and Donna (Don) Buell; brother-in-law Carl (Debbie) Churulo; aunt Margaret Penzkofer. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Raymond Sr. and Lucille Crampton; one brother Donald Crampton and a sister in infancy Josephine Crampton.
Born in Chicago, living in the Joliet area. Graduated from William J. Bogan High School. A U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Ray was a self employed flooring installer, in his later years he worked for Carpet Interior as a manager. Member of Holy Family Parish. Ray was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and traveling with his family and friends. If you needed something fixed you called Ray.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to Holy Family Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
