Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday June 12, 2022 at the age of 77.
Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Patricia (Kaynish) Tomasic; his brother Larry (Donna) Tomasic; sister Judy Hann; brother-in-law Jim (Sue) Kaynish. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Peter A. and Mary C. (Marolt) Tomasic; sister Catherine Tomasic; brother Tom Tomasic; brother-in-law Dave Hann and sister-in-law Nancy Kovis.
A life long Joliet resident. He was employed by the Joliet Herald News in the composing room for most of his career. Pete also worked for Caterpillar and Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Commendation Medal. Lifetime member of American Legion Post #1080, Cantigny Post #367 VFW and the Moran Athletic Club. An avid Bears and Cubs fan. In his younger years enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards with his friends.

Funeral Services will be held, Thursday June 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday morning 9:30- 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice, American Legion Post #1080 or Cantigny Post #367 V.F.W. would be appreciated.
