Age 85, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center.

Survived by her three children Michael (Kathleen) Geraghty, Debbie Halweg and Danny (Sue) Reilly; known as “Nonnie” to grandchildren Shannon Halweg, Molly (John) Thompson, Bill Reilly, Colleen Geraghty, Sean Reilly and Tyler Halweg; one great granddaughter Charlotte Marie Thompson; one sister Mary Ellen (Jim) Albano. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Reilly; parents Charles and Hannah Kirkham; son-in-law Steve Halweg; beloved Aunt and Uncle Rosella and Bernard “Packy” Goeing; sisters Donna McGowan and JoAnn Lavery; and brother Ward Kirkham.

Nancy was born in Chicago as a leap year baby on February 29, 1936 and liked to joke that she was really only 21 years old. She lived in Joliet and was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her love for family and had a big true heart with grace, generosity and compassion. One of Nancy’s most important roles in her life was being referred to as “Nonnie” and loved her grandchildren a bushel and a peck. She loved to help everyone and was very giving. Baking, playing cards, watching game shows, completing word searches and laughing with her treasured family and friends gave her great joy.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet from 10am until the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to National Autistic Society or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
