Marian K. Aagesen

June 2, 1925 — March 6, 2013

Aagesen, Marian Knox passed away at age 87 on March 6, 2013 at Senior Star Memory Care. Born June 2, 1925 in Joliet, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Aagesen and parents Howard and Eloise Knox. She is survived by daughters Dr. Peggy (Charles) Rouh of Keller, TX and Gael (Mark) Will of Shorewood; grandchildren Alexandra (Shannon) Callies, Andrew (Sarah) Will, and Jennifer Will; and great grandsons Shelby Knox Callies and Aaron Jay Will. Marian graduated from JTHS, class of 1943, and Joliet Junior College and was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church. She lived in Lockport for 57 years serving on the Kelvin Grove-Milne Grove School Board, PTA past president, 20 years on Lockport's City Planning Commission, a 35-year Silver Cross volunteer, member of King's Daughters and many other groups and committees. An avid bowler she was a member of the TWA Ladybirds and bowled with the First United Methodist Church team and also golfed regularly at Lockport Golf and Recreation. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Don. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Sunday March 10 at Blackburn- Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet. A funeral service will be held at Old Central Presbyterian Church, 15 S. Richards Street, Joliet at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11. The family hopes that all Marian's friends will join them for a lunch served at the church immediately following the service so they can share remembrances and stories of Marian. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 1101 S. Gougar Road, New Lenox.
