Maria B. Proc

Age 87, passed away peacefully Saturday June 13, 2026 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care.

Survived by her daughter Krystyna Szczur; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Wincenty Proc; one daughter Elizabeth Kalicki.

Born in Poland, March 28, 1939. Maria came to America on April 16, 1965 with her husband and youngest daughter. The very next week she began working downtown at the Chicago Board of Trade for 35 years. After retiring, she spent most of her time enjoyed spending time with family. From sleepovers with the grandchildren to family gatherings and cookouts. Her basement was always where the family would gather for Easter and Christmas. She treasured these days the most. A few of Maria’s favorite things were knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking for family and friends. But most of all she loved spending time with family and living by the word of God.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish 5157 S. McVicker Ave., Chicago, IL 60638 on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Justice. Visitation Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.
