Margaret Helena England

June 12, 1931 — December 6, 2020

Margaret Helena (Tennis) England, 89, of Joliet passed away December 6, 2020, at AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center. Margaret was born June 12, 1931, in Peoria Heights, Illinois, to Clarence and Georgia Tennis. She had one brother, Dale Tennis, who preceded her in death.

Margaret married James (Jim) England on April 22, 1950, in Peoria Heights, Illinois. Margaret is survived by her loving husband Jim, son Stephen (wife Marian and daughters Anne England and Emily England), son Mark (wife Linda and son Patrick England), and daughter Jennifer Krasa (husband Rob and children Nora Krasa and Henry Krasa). Being a mom was her life’s ambition and how she defined herself. And all would agree she was a special fun and loving grandmother.

Margaret and Jim were proud members of the Caterpillar family in Peoria and Joliet. They were longtime members of the Congregational Church of Lockport and until they joined Westminster Presbyterian Church of Joliet in 2017 when driving to Lockport became too difficult.

Margaret enjoyed needlework, baking and keeping an immaculate house. She was a multiple sports fan and followed the Cubs, the Bulls and the Fighting Illini. Margaret was also interested in geneology and loved to travel when younger, especially visiting national parks. Margaret's family would like to encourage donations to local food banks in her memory.

Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Blackburn-Giegerich- Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
