Joel D. Porcaro

Age 75, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

 

Survived by his wife Julie (Krzywanos) Porcaro; one daughter Alexandra E. Porcaro; one son Joseph L. (Neringa Vartavicius and her daughter Olivija) Porcaro; a precious grandson expected in 4 weeks; sisters Catherine Linda Porcaro and Barbara (Steven) Cannistra; one brother Carl Porcaro; two sisters-in-law Lillian Porcaro and Carole Porcaro; mother-in-law Beatrice McGovern; father-in-law Michael T. McGovern; sisters-in-law Kimberly (Bryan) Papesh and Karen Krzywanos; brother-in-law Brian (Mara)McGovern.   His beloved Cubbie, Roxie, Zoey, Lou and Hunter.   Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Catherine (O’Malley) Porcaro; brothers Ronald Porcaro, Guy Porcaro and Louis D. Porcaro; brother-in-law William Krzywanos Jr.; his dogs Taffy, Charlie and Hershey.

 

Born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Elmwood Park, IL and living in Shorewood, IL.  Joel  worked as a pipefitter for the State of Illinois Central Management services and the Department of Mental Health.  Retired from the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.  Past member of Teamsters Local 700 and Pipefitters Local 597.  Joel enjoyed boating and was an avid story teller.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.  Visitation Wednesday 3:00 p.m. until time of services.   Family and friends can live stream the service by clicking on the link https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1663640559208945
