Age 91, passed away peacefully January 19, 2023 at home, with family by her side.

Survived by Mark (Susan) Tomany, Laura (James) Towe and Michael (Margaret) Tomany; grandchildren Kristin Fara, Keith Tomany, Kim Tomany, Kathryn Stapleton, Chad Pedigo, Patrick Towe and Amy Thomas; numerous great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Leonard W. Tomany; great grandson Brigham Tomany; parents Clarence and Dorothy Schulz.

Born in Chicago, living in Joliet.  Retired from Material Service in Romeoville, also worked for Lewis University and Marshall Fields.   Joan was a determined confident woman.  Joan loved sending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed going on cruises , loved going out to dinner, wine tasting and was a great cook.

Funeral Services for Joan D. Tomany will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.  Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake, IL.  Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m.   In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice or Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated.
