Jerry L. Cassem Age 68, passed away Friday July 1, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Survived by his loving wife Ruby (Crump) Cassem; beloved children Annette (Jeffery) Brandt of Braidwood, Michelle (David) Swanson of Spring Hill, TN, Jerry Jr. (Theresa) Cassem of Danville, IL, Jefferey (Amanda) Cassem of Sumner, IL and James (Nichole) Cassem of Braidwood; 13 cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Eric, Jeffery, Dalton, Jarrod, Kayla, Joshua, Lexi, Ethan, Bella, Lanni, John and Elliot; one cherished great granddaughter Savana. Brother Michael (Carol) Cassem; brother in law Dale Bixenmann; two sisters-in-law Barbara Sloth and Sue Portschell. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Palmer and Genevieve (Flint) Cassem; sister Darlene Bixenmann. Born in Joliet a lifelong resident. Retired from Sunny Hill Nursing Center. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Rd, Joliet, IL Interment Elmhurst Cemetery.
