James M. Nelson, Jr

James Marshall Nelson Jr. Age 82 passed away Sunday October 16 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital with his beloved family by his side. Born in Aurora IL lived most of his life in Lockport IL.Survived by his loving wife of 48 years Donna (Ternik) Nelson son Mark Nelson daughters Kimberly (David) Gore and Jennifer (Donald) Smith grandsons Christopher James and Matthew Gore sisters Emma Van Riper and Marie Vieceli. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.Preceded in death by his parents James M. and Elizabeth Nelson Sr. Retired from Caterpillar after 30 years. Member of St. John Lutheran Church. James was a wonderful husband and father and devoted grandfather. He was staunch White Sox fan. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday October 19 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Holmer officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
