Helen J. Mulvey

Helen Jean Mulvey passed away on Thursday September 25, 2025 at the age of 97. She was born on March 8, 1928 in Joliet, the daughter of the late J. Elmer and Helen K. Swansbro. Helen was a lifelong resident of Joliet. She attended Joliet Grade Schools, Joliet Township High School and graduated from Joliet Junior College in 1948. Survived by two children son Thomas (Kristin) Mulvey; daughter Susan (Kevin) Small; five grandchildren Dr. Megan (Dr. Darrin) Worthington, Patrick (Marika) Mulvey, Lauren (Alec) Sherman, Eric Small and Daniel Small; and great-granddaughters Grace Worthington, Claire Worthington, Molly Worthington, Eleanor Sherman and Josephine Sherman. Preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Mulvey, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Joyce) Swansbro, great-granddaughter Rose Sherman. Worked at H&R Block, Joliet Public Schools and Illinois Bell. Family and friends will meet at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 1:15 and proceed to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for funeral services at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorials to Grace Methodist Church or organization of your choice.
