Age 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday May 14, 2025 at Willow Falls.

Survived by his wife of 72 years Barbara (Carnegie) Garland; one daughter Lynda Garland; one son Tom (Patti) Garland; grandchildren Faith (Fred) Garland, Savannah (Dan) Smith and Beau (Stephanie) Garland; great grandchildren Logan, Owen, Olivia, Malachi, Jasmine, Justin and Dylan; sister-in-law Nancy (Joe) Zagar. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Clark and Frances (Humbert) Garland; brothers John, Clark Jr., Ed, Bill and Donald; sisters Betty Stukel and Norma Ahlberg.

Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Retired from E, J & E Railroad after 38 years of service. An avid Golfer, George made a Hole-In-One on two different occasions. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who enjoyed cooking.

Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2025, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. As per George’s wishes cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorials to Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
