Age 82, of Muncie, IN,  passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at home.

She was born Wednesday, October 5, 1938, in Burrville, Tennessee, the daughter of Clyde and Lena (Brown) Williams.  She was the fourth of twelve children.  Emma grew up in Sunbright, Tennessee.  In 1958, she moved to Joliet, Illinois to be with her family. In 2000 she and her daughter, Teresa moved to Muncie, Indiana, where she lived the rest of her life.

Emma enjoyed camping, fishing, BINGO, Bowling, playing cards and going to the races on Friday nights at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL.  She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

Emma is survived by 5 children, Helen (John) Britt, Terri (Ray) McCollum, Crystal (Chuck) Cain, all of Muncie, Richard (Wendy) Pope of Joliet, IL and “The apple of her eye” Teresa Pope of Muncie, IN.  Her grandchildren Tina, Angela, Trudy, Polo, Ricky, Rico, Brad and Justin; great grandchildren Kassandra, Jazmine, Aryanna, David, James, Braxton, Will, Elijah, Aiden, Isiah and Alex; Great great grandchildren Novaleigh and David; brother Guy “Gab” (Sue) Williams; brother-in-law Johnie Adams, both of Lancing, TN; an uncle and aunt, several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Walter Pope; parents Clyde and Lena Williams; sisters Wanda “Ruth” Hardestry, Ruby “June” Adams, Mazie “Ellon” Ledford and Jenny Williams; brothers Elmer “Eugene” Williams, Benjamin “Benny” Williams, Clyde “Bud” Williams, Cluade “Chip” Williams; and a great grandson Little Rico Perez preceded her in death.

There will be a Remembrance Gathering for Emma at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
