MURPHEY, EARL FRED At rest June 13, 2013, born in Portland Oregon November 7, 1920. Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific with the U. S Navy. Earl worked as a foreman at Caterpillar for 30 years. He served on the Rockdale school board and as a Village of Rockdale Trustee. Survived by 7 children Fredrick R. Murphey, Carol A. (Fred) Sporar, Karen Keigher, Wesley R. Murphey, James E. Murphey, Mary M. Murphey, Audrey M. Murphey and one stepson Daniel Lapikas. Sisters Jean Harris of Reedsport, Oregon, Helen Bartow of Reedsport, Oregon, brother Leo (Joy) Murphey of Reedsport, Oregon. 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law Francis (Kenneth) Murphey of Reedsport, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his first wife Marion I (Dames) Murphey (1976), and his second wife Mary V. (Lapikas) Murphey (2011) both he shared 30 years of marriage. His parents Mildred (Lempke) Murphey and Earl W. Murphey both of Reedsport, Oregon. Brothers Kenneth, Walter, John and Gordon all of Reedsport, Oregon. Earl enjoyed fishing, hunting, vacationing and being with his grandchildren, and he loved his animals, always a farmer at heart. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have him touch their life. The family would like to thank Symphony of Joliet and Joliet Hospice for their kind care. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 18, 2013 at St. Joseph Church, 1325 Bellview Ave., Rockdale, Il. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
