Age 100, passed away, Sunday August 17, 2025 at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville.
Survived by her children Gary (Joyce) French, William (Debbie) French and Bonnie (Jim) Ramseyer;
grandchildren Michele French, Nicole (Gene) Krumonacker, Kimberly French, Brian (Heather) French, Brandon (Adriane) French, Kyle (Jenny) French, Heather Stinnett, Melissa Wilson, Brian Ramseyer and James Ramseyer; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband William E. French; parents Harry and Frances (Johnson) Bowers.
Born in Johnson City, NY, moving to Joliet and attending Joliet Township High School. In High School Dawn moved back to Johnson City and graduated from Johnson City High School.
Dawn worked as a nurse’s aid, in the maternity ward for 18 years St. Joseph Hospital. A member of Christ Episcopal Church and then St. Edward and Christ Episcopal Church. Dawn and William enjoyed camping, traveling across the United States and spending one month every year in Florida in the spring. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and taking her granddaughter to school and picking her up after.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St Edward and Christ Episcopal Church. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 3-7 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or Wounded Warrior Project, 230 W.
