Darrell D. Parrish

Age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home, with his family by his side.

Survived by two children  Virginia “Ginger” (Stanley) Wisnieski and James “Bobby” (Myra) Parrish;   grandchildren Stacy (Lacy) Wagner, Brad Wisnieski, Jessica Parrish, and Darrell (Renee) Parrish; great grandchildren Spencer Parrish, Abigail Parrish, Carter Wagner,  Molly Wagner and Allison Parrish.   Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carole J. (Shaw) Parrish; one son Phillip Parrish; parents John and Bertha  Parrish and 12 brothers and sisters.

 Born in Benton, IL, living in Joliet most of his life.   Darrell was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Retired from Blockson-Olin Chemicals.  He loved spending time with his family.   Enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting going to garage sales, and was an avid Chicago Bears Fan.

 Funeral Services at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Monday August 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.   Interment with full military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.   Visitation Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
