Age 82, passed away peacefully Saturday February 21, 2026 at her home.

Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bernice (Nurczyk) Stempien and one sister Janice Stempien.

Survived by her Caregiver and friend Bonnie Wilm and caregivers Melissa Rathbun and Christian Rathbun; grandchildren Fritz and Chris Wilm, Danny and Vanessa Wilm, Chole and Oliver Wilm, Emily andn Tommy Seppi; dear friend Gerri Troppe and extended family and friends

Born in Joliet a lifelong resident. Carol attended Holy Cross Grade School and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy. She worked for Union National Bank and 1St Midwest Bank.  A special Thank you to the caring staff from Lightways Hospice.

A Celebrate of Life will be Saturday February 28, 2026 from 1-4 p.m. at the Croatian Club, 1503 Clement St., Joliet, IL 60435. Memorials in Carol’s name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
