Betty A. Reilly

On Tuesday May 20, 2025, Betty Reilly, 88, unexpectedly passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident, Betty attended S.S. Cyril and Methodius Elementary School and St. Francis Academy Class of 1954. She and her husband Harold “Babe” Reilly founded The Original Babe’s Hot Dogs in Joliet. She then became a successful Real Estate Broker and retired from St. Joseph Medical Center in 2009. After retirement, Betty enjoyed the monthly luncheons with her elementary classmates and going to St. Joe’s Park to play BINGO.
In 1955, Betty and Babe married, and went on to raise their 5 children.
She is survived by son Robert (Jeanine) Reilly, grandchildren Patrick and Hailey; daughter Patricia Creede, grandchildren Alex (Bethany) Creede, Sophia Creede, great grandson Beau Anthony Creede; daughter Sherri (Michael) Reardon, grandchildren Samantha (Nicholas) Glennon, Taylor Reardon, Morgan (Blake Bieg) Reardon and Blake Reardon, great granddaughters Collins and Rowan Glennon; son Tim (Amy) Reilly, grandchildren Casey (Michael Guglielmucci) Reilly and Keegan Reilly; daughter Lisa Reilly, grandchildren Libby (Anthony) Prohaska, great granddaughters Kensley and Alayna Prohaska, Steven (Kendall) Guldenbecker, great grandsons Max, Mason and Myles Guldenbecker, Ken Guldenbecker and Jack Guldenbecker. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Reilly (2006), her parents Rudolph and Anna (Onofrey) Olznoi, and her seven siblings.
Betty was cherished and loved by her family and friends. Her family could not have wished for a more wonderful mom, grandma, and great–grandma!!!
Visitation, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 3-7pm; funeral services Wednesday, May 28, 2025, 8:30am at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home; to Queen of Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
