KEENAN BERNADINE M.Bing] PhelanPassed away at her home on February 8 2011. Born in Streator IL on July 12 1921 to William and Agnes Phelan and raised in the farming community of Kinsman IL. After graduating from St. Pauls Catholic High School in Odell IL in 1938 she went to work for State Farm Ins. in Bloomington IL then on to the Elwood Ordinance Plant in the Personnel Dept. In 1942 she married Edward J. Keenan and was blessed with seven children Bonnie (Kenneth Stalzer), William (Gail), Mary (Keith Sippel), Daniel (deceased 2000), Sue (Walter Skip] Krupinski), Deborah (Michael Vazzano) and Patricia (Louis Junker).Bing was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and the Paulites as well as the C.C.W. She was actively involved with her childrens education and sporting events enjoyed playing cards and dancing. She was also a member of the Joliet Catholic High Mothers Club and worked as an editorial assistant for Fr. Kevin Shanley OCarm for 23 years.Preceded in death by her parents five brothers and one sister as well as her husband (2003) and son (2000).Also surviving are her grandchildren Ken (Ali) Stalzer Erin (Ryan) Pirnat Megan and Casey Keenan Caitlin and Adam Krupinski Devin Rose and Connor Vazzano Ella and Bridget Junker step-grandson Erik Sippel and great grandson Jack Pirnat.Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home Saturday February 12 2011 at 10:00 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday February 11 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
