Belva Lois Bergeson, 97, of New Lenox, Illinois passed away at 9 PM Sunday, September 4, at Rock Run Place in Joliet, IL.

She was born on July 30, 1925 in Loretta, Wisconsin to Albert and Maude (Church) Revels.  She married George Edward Bergeson on May 16, 1953 in Joliet, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on August 27, 1994.

Belva loved crocheting and had been doing it since she was 13 years old.  She made hundreds of afghans thru the years giving them to the Morning Star Mission and Joliet Hospice in later years.

She is survived by a sister, Beverly Martin of Cypress, CA; two sons, Delbert (Sharon) Bergeson of Joliet and Basil aka Butchie of Utica, Illinois; two daughters, Donna O’Connor of Roselle; and Jeanie Bergeson of New Lenox.  She also is survived by 7 grandchildren:  Tina (Spiro Bifsha) Kolioulis of Roselle, IL, Anna Mudroch of Oswego, IL, Skye (Jaime) Bergeson of Manhattan, IL, Joy (Nathaniel) Herrera of Northwood, OH and Kelli (Aaron) Grosse of Mishawaka, IN; 3 great grandchildren Dimitri Bifsha, Judah Herrera and Iva Bergeson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers:  Rodney, Gerald, Kenneth, Eugene, and Harlan, and two sisters:  Beatrice and Berneice.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 10 AM until Noon at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home located at 1500 Black Road in Joliet, followed immediately by the funeral services. Long-time friend, Rev. Ray Mitchell, of Praise Center Assembly of God in Ottawa, IL will officiate. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.
