Anthony P. D'Amico, Jr

Anthony Paul "Tony" D'Amico Jr. Age 80, at rest Tuesday, September 10, 2013. He was a lifetime resident of Joliet. He was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and Purdue University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a partner in the D'Amico Family Restaurants: D'Amico's 214, D'Amico's Banquets and Earl's Caf. During that time, he was instrumental in securing top flight entertainment to Joliet including Louis Armstrong, Phyllis Diller, Count Basie, Eloise and Pat O'Brien. He had a gregarious personality, a terrific sense of humor and had many good friends. He was an avid and talented golfer. Survived by his loving brother, Earl J. D'Amico; two devoted nieces, Claire and Gianna; his aunt, Mary Bertagnoli and great uncle to Alex and Danny Barone. Tony is now reunited in eternal life with his cherished parents, Anthony Sr. and Clara D'Amico. Tony's family would like to express their sincere thanks to Villa Franciscan, Presence St. Joseph's Medical Center and Dr. Jason Suh for all of their great care and comfort. Funeral Services will be held from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home 1500 Black Road on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 9:15 am to the Church of St. Anthony for a mass at 10:00 am. Entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm.
