Agnes Schultz

April 2, 1926 — July 27, 2021

Schultz, Agnes C. (nee Sitar) At peace and reunited with those she loved who passed before her on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Plymouth Place in La Grange, Illinois.  Survived by her children, Elizabeth “Beth”, Richard, Jr. “Rick” (Karen) and Timothy “Tim” (Julie).  Grandmother of Eric, Peter, Lydia, Carlos and Sarah.  Great-grandmother of Brodey.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” in 1967 and her son David “Dave” (Jane) in 2007; her parents, Joseph and Caroline (nee Zivnostka) Sitar; seven brothers, Joe (Anna), Steve (Mary), John (Helen), Anthony (Evelyn), Frankie, Anton and Tommy Sitar; four sisters, Anne (Denis) O’Brien, Susan (John “Moon”) Mulvihill, Cecilia (Joe) Vidmar and Mary Sitar.  Agnes was the youngest of her siblings and was born and raised in Joliet where she lived until moving to a retirement community in 2017.  She was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone and in retirement enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.  A faithful parishioner at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for over 60 years, she supported the many programs of the church and, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus “Kneeler Fund” in Agnes’ name would be appreciated.  A celebration of Agnes’ life will begin on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. for visitation, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, to St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.   Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Rd., Joliet.
