Joseph N. Giglietti, age 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Salem Village Nursing Home after a courageous battle with dementia.
Joseph is survived by one son Michael H. Giglietti and one daughter Diana Giglietti Pitzer; grandchildren Jennifer (Steve) Staskiewicz, Kristin (Ryan) Yager, Joseph Aaron (Melody) Giglietti, Kristian Philip Giglietti, Michael Dino Giglietti; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Mae Staskiewicz, Madison Claire Staskiewicz, Emily Shai Giglietti, Joseph Alexander Giglietti, and Justus Ryan Giglietti; two sisters Josephine (Richard, deceased) Beebe and Virginia Gigliette,one sister-in-law Mary Gigliette and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Maria (Mancuso) Gigliette; one son Joseph David Giglietti; siblings Eleanor (Virgil) Baitinger, Victor Gigliette, Francis (Adam) Plunge, Rose (Carl) Auten, Santo Gigliette, Maryann (Elwood) Betts, and Margaret (Tom) Wilhelmi; his first wife Ruth Weaver and his second wife Jeanne Hovde.
Joe was born in Joliet, a life long resident. He served in the Korean War, was a successful owner of Early Realty, an Accredited Farm and Land broker, and owner of the Chicago Jefferson Building located in Joliet.
A Prayer Service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment St. Pat’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice in Joseph’s name would be appreciated.
