We are Robert & Debra Kurth in MIlwaukee. What began as a customer based relationship quickly blossomed into a friendship. John became a frequent guest in our home, most often for Debra's cooking as you can imagine. From that, John shared the many challenges he faced from childhood and throughout his adult years, and in a way, felt very confident listing to our comments. As we all know, John listening was not always his strong suit.
John wrestled and overcame much in his life but in the end, those medical complications became overwhelming.
Debra and I spoke and texted back and forth the night of August 1st which became the last people he communicated with.
Because of the sensitivity of these dates, we would like to send the transcript of those as well as the last picture of himself after his fall.
We believe the children, who we met on several occasions, would appreciate their Father's last to reinforce how much John loved them and thought about, talked about and missed them daily.
We wish you two as well as the rest of the family resolution and acceptance in this most difficult time!

My heart breaks to hear you passed away. You and Chad were like my little brothers. We had so many good times and so many laughs. I have years of good memories and a few not so good ones to if we are honest. You were the first person I went out with after having Cody. I remember you taking him to Pilchter Park to pick up girls! I'm laughing through tears even now. Remember you and Jimmy trying to sell cars on EBay. John Logan running through my house like a crazy man. I remember you bringing Faith over as a little tiny baby and how proud you were of her. You have been in my thoughts a lot lately and now I know why. I was going to see if I could talk to u at the races one Friday night and kept putting in off. I had another business idea. I will always love you dude even though you drove me crazy. This is not the way to get out of paying me my money! Remember when I taught Chad how to drive a stick shift? Or when we went bar hopping in the back of Mike Teitle's J&M moving truck? Remember your truck that we had to hotwire to drive? I remember having to go find your dad when he went to the bar in his electric scooter. My heart is hurt for your kids losing their father so soon. I know that you loved them and their mother with your whole heart. I know you struggled with depression and injuries over the years. I was glad when you moved from Joliet to try and start over. I hope your last days were happy ones. Jimmy and I love you. You were and will always be part of our family. We will miss your laugh. I hope you are not in pain anymore.
