Edward Draksler, age 98 of Joliet, passed away peacefully Monday, January 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home.
Survived by his children Mary Ana Nemenski, Edward (Monica) Draksler, Millie (Harlan) Carter, Donald Draksler, and David (Peggy) Draksler, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Milka (Cebasek), son-in-law Phillip Nemenski, Brother Francis, and sisters Annica, Mitca, and Manca
Born September 21, 1919 in Slovenia, Edward immigrated to America in 1951. He married his beloved wife Milka on June 6, 1953. Edward was employed for 27 years as a hand burner at Caterpillar. He retired in 1983.
A kind-hearted man of strong faith, Edward enjoyed working with his hands, demonstrating his skills in the garden and with wood.
Edward will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched, especially his family.
Funeral from Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Monday January 29, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N Chicago St in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Monday 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or Our Lady of Angels in Edward’s name would be appreciated.
