Nancy Elizabeth Wirth
Nancy Wirth passed away on Wednesday, March 28th in Artesia, California at 83 years-old due to a respiratory illness. Daughter of the late Conrad Jr. and Velma (Johnston) Wirth of Joliet.
Nancy attended Western Michigan University where she studied Merchandising.
In Chicago, she worked as a model, merchandiser, fashion coordinator, design and style consultant, and designer. A few of her designs were featured in national magazines and she was involved in TV, film, and the fashion industry. Some films she worked on include “Touch of Mink”, “Fashions from Cleopatra”, and “Fantasy in Furs”. Nancy moved to New York in 1968 and worked as fashion designer, stylist and merchandiser for KW International. She traveled for work to Hong Kong, specializing in oriental inspired designs.
Nancy resided in Southern California for most of her life, living in Winsor Palms of Artesia for over 30 years. She leaves behinds her three nephews Wayne, Warren, and Wade Wirth. She will be remembered for her sharp memory and witty sense of humor.
Funeral services are to be held at St. Edwards’s Episcopal Church, on April 16,2018, at 10:30 a.m., along with her brother Richard Wirth, who passed away 6 days earlier. Visitation Monday morning at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Private entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
