Louis L. “Lou” Hoehn, age 82, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his beloved wife of 55 years by his side.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Brunner) Hoehn; 3 children Susan (Michael) Hayes, David (Wendy) Hoehn, and Rebecca (Joseph) Bachmann; eleven grandchildren Joshua, James, Jeremy, Jonah, Adam, Makana, Charles "C.J.", Michael "Bubba", Tesla, Piper, and Reese "Spooky"; six great-grandchildren Isaiah, Shantal, Marcus, Justin "JJ", Andrew, and Ella; 3 siblings Betty (Chuck) Jacobucci, Albert (Paula-deceased) Hoehn, and Doris Ann Curry. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Ralph E. and Florence (Malcor) Hoehn; one brother Ralph P. Hoehn; one sister Virginia (Bob) Lusciatti; and one grandchild Zacharia.
Louis was born in Lockport, IL. He attended Fairmont Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus #300, and the Joliet Moose. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing poker and pinochle, camping with the family, was grandpa to everyone and was famous for cooking big breakfasts for the family. He retired from the Joliet Herald News and Akzo Nobel Chemical Company of Morris.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home Monday, April 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2- 6 p.m.
