Joseph Malesich, age 95, of Joliet passed away September 5, 2017 at Our Lady of Angels. Preceeded in death by his parents John and Katherine Malesich; his brother Dr. John (Sid) Malesich, and his sister Helen (Jack) Darin.

Survived by his sister Mary (Anthony deceased) Darin; nephews and nieces Jack and James Darin, Judith (Robert deceased) Kovic, Richard (Beverly) Darin, Robert (Sue) Darin, Thomas (Marilyn) Darin, Michael (Kathy) Darin, Douglas (Mary) Darin, Colleen (Robert) Krol, Michelle Petric and numerous Great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A lifelong Joliet resident, Joe graduated from Joliet Township High School. He served our nation during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a machinist at U.S. Steel.

He enjoyed simple things like having coffee with his sister, making his “daily rounds”, and being around family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and playing euchre.

Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Joliet Rivals Club, a lifetime member of Stone City Post #2199 and KSKJ.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

Funeral services from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home Monday, September 11, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation Sunday, September 10th 1 - 4 p.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
