John H. “Jack” Brown
John H. Brown went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018. Jack was born on February 11, 1934 in Lockport. He lived in Lockport until age 12, at which time his mother passed away. Jack was then raised by his loving sister, Luella and her husband Raymond Quirk. He worked at the Material Service steel yard in Lockport for approximately 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, Harry Brown (d. 1939) and Margaret Pettigrew (d. 1946), his loving wife Isabelle (Rutherford) (d. 1996) and his loving wife Margaret (Eungard) (d. 2017); five brothers Lumen, William, Andrew, Harry and Asa; one sister Marguerite. Also preceding, a great grandson.
He is survived by one sister, Luella (Rusty) Peterson of Lockport; one son Dr. David (Esther) Brown of Stevens Point, WI; one granddaughter Diann (Darrel) Barker of Madison, WI; two step-granddaughters Sarah and Christina Ross; two step-grandsons Gabriel Ross and Ian Rosebrook along with numerous step greatgrandchildren, numerous friends from the John F. Kennedy apartments, and coworkers from Material Service.
Visitation Monday, March 5, 2018, 6-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Everyone will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial for John H. Brown, Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion St, Joliet, IL. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
