James “Jimmy” Clancy died unexpectedly in Morris, on March 3, 2018 at the age of 75.
Jimmy is survived by his nieces, Michele Arling, of Joliet and Lori Broncato, of Wheaton, and nephews, Steve Arling, of Joliet, and Paul Arling, of Irvine, CA, four great-nephews and three great nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette (Robert) Arling, and his parents, William and Evelyn [Nickel] Clancy.
Jimmy was born and lived in Joliet. Jimmy was a 1962 graduate of Joliet Township High School (Central),and studied at Joliet Junior College where he was a member of the Motor Sports Club. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. After the service he worked for US Steel, until his retirement. Jimmy was a lifelong Nascar enthusiast, and loved boating and fishing.
A Memorial Visitation will be held, Saturday March 10, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Will County Humane Society would be appreciated.
