Hope Angeles (Gutierrez)
Passed away at Sunny Hill Nursing Home Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 at the age of 97 years young.
She was surrounded by her loving family by her side. Survived by her beloved and devoted soul mate, Jose Coronado; mother of Frank Rojo, Arthur Rojo (Brynda), Linda Bradford (Chris), Carol Kohl, and Becky Bauer (Joe). Preceded in death by her loving children, Raul Rojo (Joanne) and Cindy Saragossa (John), her parents, Natividad and Felipa (Aguilera) Gutierrez, and her brother, Joseph Gutierrez.
Loving grandmother of Deanna Goduto (Jimmy), Eric Rojo, Bruce Kohl, Mark Pena, Janice Dillard (Doug), Michael Rojo, Kevin Rojo (Francine), Gary Rojo (Julie), Becky Bulian (Richard), Lori Rojo, Charissa Rojo (Erik), Brian Kohl (Erin), Angie Aranda (David), and Monica Saragossa as well as twenty four great and great-great grandchildren. Survived by her brothers and sisters, David Gutierrez (Carmen), Carmela Camarena, Tony Gutierrez (Dorathy), Robert Gutierrez (Barbara), Jesse Gutierrez (Donna), Rachel Prado and Dr. Daniel Gutierrez (Barbara), and survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hope was born April 26, 1920 in Pendleton, TX. She graduated from Joliet Central High School. She volunteered on many mission trips with the Eye Care International, as a translator for the Joliet Spanish Center, and distributed food to the needy through the Joliet churches. She retired from Kerr Glass Company and attended many of the Baptist Churches of Joliet. One of her passions was playing the organ and piano which she continued to play until her passing for the Sunny Hill residents. She loved to travel and enjoyed learning about the many religions and cultures of the world.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home for taking such good care of her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 4th from 1 – 5PM at Blackburn- Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home
1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 5th at 10 AM and interment Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Kidney Dialysis Foundation or the American Cancer Society
