Dale died June 30, 2017, peacefully at age 98 at her residence in Effingham, IL.  She was a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Baptist and St. Jude Catholic Churches. 

She is survived by her children, Joanne (Lawrence) Randles of Buffalo, NY and Fr. Joseph Carlos OFM of Teutopolis, IL; grandchildren, Paul, Steve (Denise), Tyler (Elizabeth) Carlos and Lori, James (Lora) and Benjamin Randles; great grandchildren, Jayden, Isabella, Julia, Emma Carlos and Karina, Jack and Mia Randles; brother, Raymond
(Linda) Salzman and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manning “Doc” Carlos in 1994; two sons, James and Gerald (Judy) Carlos and grandson, Chris Carlos; parents, Albert and Louise (Schreiner) Salzman; brothers and sisters, John and Robert Salzman, Mary Louise Gleason, Eleanor Turner, Lorraine Dwyer, Rita Gorman, Jeanette Kays, Elizabeth Hoffman and Doris Carlin.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Joliet, IL on Friday July 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 7:00 p.m.   Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to “Franciscan Water in Africa Project”, 3140 Meramec Street, St. Louis, MO 63118
